How to report an irregularity

If you have known facts or activities that threaten the public interest in your work or within the framework of your professional relationship, you can safely report them in several ways.

Through your internal channel

The organizations required by the Law must have an Internal Information System that allows to communicate in a secure way the known infractions within the scope of the entity itself.

This is the preferred way to report infringements that you have experienced in your professional or work environment (both in the public and private sectors).

Normally, you will find it hosted on the intranet of your organization, or on the website.

Through an external channel

If you feel that you may or may not be subject to retaliation that your information will not be properly handled, you can submit the information to the Privacy Officer. external channels of the competent public bodies, where you can also request protection.

What guarantees does the system offer?

  • Whichever channel you go to, your information must be treated confidentially and securely, and your identity will not be disclosed to third parties if you so choose. You can also submit your information anonymously.
  • The organization must enable secure means for you to present your information. You can usually choose to do so in writing or verbally, depending on the means enabled, which must meet certain requirements (Article 5 of Law 2/2023).
