AIPI and the Transparency Council will collaborate to guarantee the right of access to public information within the framework of Law 2/2023

The President of the Independent Authority for the Protection of the Informant, Manuel Villoria, held a meeting today with the President of the Council of Transparency and Good Governance, Concepción Campos, in which they highlighted the necessary institutional collaboration between both bodies for the fulfillment of Law 2/2023.

The AIPI and the CTBG will draft and approve a joint guide on the right of access to public information within the framework of Law 2/2023, of February 20, regulating the protection of people who report on normative violations and the fight against corruption.
This was agreed by the President of the Authority, Manuel Villoria, and the President of the Council, Concepción Campos, at a meeting held today, 28 July, at the headquarters of the AIPI in Madrid.
The meeting, which was also attended by Enrique Orduña (CTBG adviser), Teresa de Jesús Sánchez (director of the Department of Follow-up and Sanctions Regime) and Ignacio Sáez (director of the AIPI cabinet), highlighted the need for institutional collaboration in strengthening the culture of information as a mechanism to prevent and detect threats to the public interest and strengthening the integrity infrastructures of organizations.
